day eight

i've always thought ontarians were slightly conceited.  and i'm allowed to say that because i'm married to one.  but i'm officially stating that if you're from kenora, you're allowed to be.

kenora is the bomb.  that's pretty much it.

long day of driving, not sure where to go.  stumbled upon an amazing campground and stayed in the "penthouse suite" of campsites...fenced yard overlooking the lake.  same price as the aforementioned revelstoke koa - that was a kick in the pants.

built a fire (rather, larry the caretaker built us a fire), watched the stars (caught one shooting), observed four deer munching on the grass (considered trying to ride one, but cliff was concerned the others would try and defend the one he caught) and actually had a decent sleep (simon has been a teething menace, but he only woke up twice that night).

oh, and cliff caught a frog which allie proceeded to step on.  he didn't move for a long time, but he wasn't there when we went back in the morning, so either he hopped away or was carried away by one of the many birds circling the beach.
p.s.  oh hey, steve martin.  anyone seen cheaper by the dozen 2?  please confirm that the house below is eugene levy's place in that movie.  we're 95% sure it is.  it was across the lake from our campsite and is apparently owned by some gangstah named donnie b.  okay, so he's not a gangster.  he just owns the local radioshack.  but i can pretend, right?
